FRESNO FALCONS SIGN DEFENSEMAN ANDREW STACEY
Physical right-shot defenseman recorded seven points and a team-high 156 penalty minutes with Roanoke last season
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons have signed defenseman Andrew Stacey for the 2026–27 season, adding a young and physical blueliner with professional experience in both the SPHL and Federal Prospects Hockey League.
Stacey joins the Falcons following the 2025–26 season with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the SPHL. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman appeared in 39 regular-season games, recording three goals and four assists for seven pointswhile finishing with a plus-three rating. His 156 penalty minutes led Roanoke, highlighting the physical and competitive style he will bring to Fresno’s blue line.
The Toledo, Ohio native established himself as a player willing to defend his teammates, compete in difficult areas of the ice and bring an edge to every shift. Stacey also continued to contribute offensively from the back end, scoring three times during his first season in the SPHL.
Before joining Roanoke, Stacey began his professional career with the Mississippi Sea Wolves during the 2024–25 FPHL season. As a rookie, he appeared in 50 games and produced three goals and 14 assists for 17 points, giving him 24 points through his first two professional seasons.
Stacey’s performance in Mississippi earned him the opportunity to advance to Roanoke, where he continued developing his defensive game while adding another level of physicality to the Rail Yard Dawgs’ lineup.
Prior to turning professional, Stacey spent parts of three seasons in the North American Hockey League, skating with the North Iowa Bulls, Odessa Jackalopes and Springfield Jr. Blues.
He played 51 games for North Iowa during the 2021–22 season, collecting eight assists. Stacey later recorded five assists in 21 appearances with Odessa before continuing his junior career in Springfield.
Across his junior and professional career, Stacey has developed a reputation as a hard-nosed, right-shot defenseman who embraces the physical side of the game. His combination of professional experience, size and competitiveness adds another dimension to the Falcons’ defensive group as Fresno continues constructing its roster for the upcoming season.
Additional player signings and information regarding the Falcons’ inaugural season will be announced throughout the offseason.
