Fresno Falcons Acquire Former SPHL Rookie of the Year Carson Gallagher

FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno Falcons have acquired forward Carson Gallagher from the Blue Ridge Bobcats in exchange for defenseman Zach Pamaylaon and financial considerations.

Gallagher comes to Fresno with an impressive professional resume, highlighted by being named the 2024 25 SPHL Rookie of the Year after a standout season with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

The Courtice, Ontario native recorded 18 goals and 29 assists for 47 points in 51 games during the 2024 25 SPHL season. His 18 goals led all rookies, while his 47 points tied for the most among first year players in the league.

Gallagher began that season with the Evansville Thunderbolts and Pensacola Ice Flyers before joining Roanoke in November. Once he arrived with the Rail Yard Dawgs, his offensive production took off. Gallagher finished with 46 points in 42 games with Roanoke and quickly became one of the team’s most dangerous offensive players.

His performance earned him a spot on the SPHL All Rookie Team before he was officially named the league’s Rookie of the Year.

Gallagher also put together a strong stretch during January 2025, recording seven goals and eight assists while finishing the month with a plus 13 rating. That performance earned him SPHL Player of the Month honors.

Following his success in the SPHL, Gallagher moved to the FPHL and continued to produce with Blue Ridge. In 37 regular season games with the Bobcats during the 2025 26 season, Gallagher recorded nine goals and 26 assists for 35 points. He also added one goal and three assists in three playoff games.

The addition gives Fresno another proven offensive option as the Falcons continue preparing for the upcoming season. Gallagher has shown throughout his professional career that he can both score and create opportunities for his teammates. His ability to generate offense and produce consistently gives Fresno another experienced forward who can be used in a variety of situations.

The Falcons have continued to add experience and depth throughout the offseason, and Gallagher becomes another important piece of the roster heading into training camp.

The 27 year old joins Fresno after producing at a high level in both the SPHL and FPHL and will now look to continue that success at Selland Arena.

Pamaylaon heads to Blue Ridge as part of the transaction. The Falcons thank Zach for his time with the organization and wish him the best moving forward.

Gallagher now joins a Fresno team preparing for the return of professional hockey to the Central Valley.

The Fresno Falcons open the 2026 27 season on Friday, October 9 against the Oceanside Shock at Selland Arena.
