FALCONS MAKE THREE-TEAM TRADE TO TRIM ROSTER AHEAD OF TRAINING CAMP

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons have completed a three-team trade involving the Minnesota Northern Lights and Stockton Thunder as the organization continues preparing its roster for the start of training camp.

As part of the transaction, Fresno sends Landon Johnson, Colin Ratt and Brandon Walker to Minnesota and will receive a player to be named later from Stockton. Stockton receives Timur Rasulov as part of the three-team deal.

For Fresno, the move is primarily about roster management.

The Falcons have spent the offseason aggressively building depth throughout the lineup through the expansion process, trades and free-agent signings. With training camp getting closer, the organization has now reached the point where it must begin reducing the overall number of players and creating a more manageable camp group.

Moving Johnson, Ratt and Walker gives the Falcons additional roster flexibility while still allowing Fresno to receive an asset in return through the player to be named later.

The trade is another step in the transition from offseason roster building to the competitive portion of the preseason, where players will battle for positions on Fresno’s opening-night roster.

The Falcons have assembled one of the deepest groups in the organization throughout the summer, creating competition at forward, defense and in goal. As training camp approaches, Fresno’s focus will increasingly shift toward identifying the players who best fit the team’s identity and ultimately earn spots for the inaugural season.

The Falcons will continue making roster decisions in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for training camp and the return of professional hockey to Selland Arena.

Fresno opens its inaugural FPHL season this fall, with the Falcons’ home opener set for Friday, October 9 at Selland Arena.
