FALCONS ACQUIRE FPHL CHAMPION ZACH PAMAYLAON IN TRADE WITH OCEANSIDE

Fresno sends Stefan Lakoseljac and Aleksis Ostankovics to Oceanside in exchange for veteran forward Zach Pamaylaon

FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno Falcons have acquired veteran forward Zach Pamaylaon from Oceanside in exchange for Stefan Lakoseljac and Aleksis Ostankovics, adding another experienced and proven Federal Prospects Hockey League player to the roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Pamaylaon brings a combination of versatility, toughness, championship experience and familiarity with the FPHL to Fresno.

The 30-year-old has appeared in 177 FPHL games, recording 21 goals and 64 assists for 85 points while accumulating 345 penalty minutes. Pamaylaon has spent five seasons in the league and has shown an ability to contribute in several different roles throughout his professional career.

Perhaps most importantly for the Falcons, Pamaylaon already knows what it takes to win in the FPHL.

He was a member of the 2022-23 Danbury Hat Tricks Commissioner’s Cup championship team, establishing himself as a dependable piece of a championship roster. During his time in Danbury, Pamaylaon became known not only for his play on the ice but also for his leadership, versatility and connection with the community.

Pamaylaon has spent significant portions of his professional career playing both forward and defense, giving Fresno another player capable of being used throughout the lineup. During the 2024-25 season with Danbury, he appeared in a career-high 50 games and totaled five goals and 17 assists while also recording 68 penalty minutes.

That versatility could prove valuable as Fresno continues preparing for training camp and evaluates how the pieces of its inaugural roster fit together.

Pamaylaon also brings an edge to his game. His 345 career FPHL penalty minutes reflect a player who is willing to compete in difficult areas, play physically and stand his ground while still contributing offensively. His 64 career assists also demonstrate his ability to create opportunities for teammates rather than simply filling a physical role.

The native of Aiea, Hawaii, holds another unique distinction: Pamaylaon is recognized as the first Hawaiian-born male professional hockey player. During his years with Danbury, he became one of the club's most recognizable players and earned the organization's Fan Favorite Award three times. He also received the Hat Tricks Award in 2022-23, an honor recognizing character, leadership and commitment to the community.

Before beginning his professional career, Pamaylaon played collegiately at Bryn Athyn College in Pennsylvania.

His college career included a standout 2021-22 campaign in which Bryn Athyn reported Pamaylaon finished second in the nation in points, earned league MVP honors and led his league in goals, assists and total points.

His time at Bryn Athyn also showcased the offensive ability that has remained part of his game at the professional level. In the 2019-20 season, Pamaylaon recorded six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 22 games.

Now, that combination of experience and versatility comes to Fresno.

The move continues the Falcons' effort to build competition throughout the roster heading into training camp. With Fresno planning to bring a larger group into camp before finalizing its opening-night roster, the addition of a player with nearly 180 games of FPHL experience adds another established veteran to an increasingly competitive group.

For Fresno, Pamaylaon provides more than experience alone. He has been part of a championship team, can play multiple positions, has produced offensively and brings the type of edge that can make him valuable in several different situations.

In return, Stefan Lakoseljac and Aleksis Ostankovics will head to Oceanside as part of the transaction.

The trade also adds another layer to what is quickly developing into a regional matchup between Fresno and Oceanside. The clubs will see one another during Fresno's inaugural season, giving Pamaylaon an opportunity to face his former organization while Lakoseljac and Ostankovics potentially do the same from the opposite bench.

For Pamaylaon, the move represents the next chapter of an FPHL career that has already included a championship, nearly 180 games and several seasons as one of Danbury's most dependable and versatile players.

For the Falcons, it represents another move toward building a roster capable of competing immediately when professional hockey returns to Selland Arena this fall.

The Fresno Falcons open the 2026-27 season at home on Friday, October 9 at Selland Arena.
